Ferry sinking off South Korea with 450 people on board

The ferry, with 450 people on board, was reported sinking off the south-western coast of South Korea while en route from the port of Incheon, west of Seoul, to Jeju Island on 16 April. The passengers were mostly secondary school students on a field trip to Jeju Island. The Coast Guard dispatched patrol boats and aircraft for rescue operations.
